Eurasia, from Ireland to Japan , is a product of what happens in the steppes when conditions are right to cause a population explosion. I wrote this essay before I knew much about the proto-indo europeans or their impact but Genghis Khan stands as the historical figure from the steppes with the biggest global impact.
